Job Descriptions

...."music is about as physical as it gets:
your essential rhythm is your heartbeat;
your essential sound, the breath.
We're walking temples of noise,
and when you add tender hearts to this mix,
it somehow lets us meet in places we couldn't
get to in any other way."

....From Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott

Our mission is to bring a
quality choral experience
to our members and to our community.
We believe that through music
we can change the world.

James Moursund, our Director, earned his Bachelor of Arts in Choral Music Education from Oregon State University. A Corvallis-native, he has been involved in a variety of ensembles: singing in school and church choirs, performing for the Majestic Theatre and in the AAA Theatre, and accompanying various groups. He has directed a private seasonal choir for four years, and had many directing opportunities at Oregon State University. In addition to directing, he will begin studies in voice, piano, and pipe organ.

Bryson Skaar, our Accompanist, holds a Bachelors Degree in Music with an emphasis in Piano Performance from Oregon State University. He is an active soloist, vocal accompanist, and ensemblepianist at the university. He has performed with the OSU Wind Ensemble, OSU Wind Symphony, University Chorale, and OSU Jazz Ensembles. Bryson works as a freelance pianist with soloists, ensembles, and theatre productions. He is an avid jazz pianist and performs regularly with jazz combos. He has found liberty in improvisation, composition, and arranging that is vital to his relationship with music.

We are a group of singers who meet once a week at the Unitarian Fellowship to learn how to sing and to spread the joy. You do not have to audition to join in the fun, just come ready to stretch your musical ability. Many of us do not even read music!

Children are welcome to attend with their parents.

Occasionally, we land a gig!
